Which is a big problem these days because there is so much out there that grooms the mind to think we need to be or look a certain way. Once people realize it’s them who can make a difference I think it becomes sort of an “ah-ha” moment. There is no magic pill… believe me, I checked (lol)! And it’s not about being skinny or “shredded”. It’s not meant to torment people, yet it does. Not all food is bad and people need to realize that. Food is looked at like a criminal sometimes and it’s not.

You get to decide what you want to eat, how to treat your body, how you want to feel.

It’s a lot of trial and error and it will never be perfect, but it’s worth it because you get to be who you are without losing yourself. I would feel helpless and start to self-shame and have zero self-esteem. The bad and not so good for you type of food. We have to treat our relationship with food as we would any other relationship except in this one the individual gets to call all the shots. Jennifer: Being in a healthy relationship with food is so personal. TLC: Here at TLC, we are ALLLL about relationships and how they impact our lives, I LOVE how you mention that you really want people to have a healthy relationship with food, we are so about that philosophy! Why did this mission become such a NEED for you? I’m plugged in 24/7 it just comes with the territory. I just roll with it and try not to let myself get too nerve wracked about it. Sometimes I go off schedule but that’s expected because life happens. I literally write down what have to do for the week. However, I taught myself how to be manageable with my time. I’m a Pisces so we like a chaotic system.

I’ve never really been an organized person so to speak. But even with that I still sometimes stay up late into the wee hours of the night to finish a blog post, write a paper, or edit photos. I aim to get most of my work and studying done while my son is in school.

For me, it wasn’t easy at all in the beginning. Jennifer: Oh gosh, every mommy is right, time is not on our side! But is it ever on anyone’s side? LOL. TLC: You seem to be able to incorporate all of your passions flawlessly! One of the common beliefs with most of the mommies I encounter is that there’s just not enough time! How have you been able to use time on your side to pursue this passion for holistic health? So that’s how Neurotic Mommy came about in a nutshell. I know how ridiculous I can be and I try not to take myself to seriously. It’s hard when you don’t know where to start in making lifestyle changes. I knew that if I was going through that, other women were too. Instead of turning to medications to disguise or mask the anxiety, I found a positive outlet for what was once negative energy. I learned about eating plant-based, organic and about GMO’s. I started to become really conscious about the foods we were putting into our bodies. To be able to do that and well, a woman must take care of herself. When you become a Mom, you know you have to take care of another life. I’ve always been a bit neurotic, but not as extreme as I was after I gave birth. I suffered from severe pregnancy induced anxiety. TLC:I just love what Neurotic Mommy is all about ESPECIALLY the name! Can you tell us a little about how Neurotic Mommy started? Haha! “ Fabulous” … I try girl, I try… But if I must, I’m fabulous because I’m a Mom and I take care of bid-ness, for the most part, when I’m not making healthy chocolate cakes and cheesecakes. Jennifer: Hi Christal! Thank you for having me! I’m Jennifer Rose aka Neurotic Mommy. Truly an inspiration! So without further ado, I present to you… Neurotic Mommy! TLC: First of all, you ROCK! Can you introduce yourself? Who are you and why are you so fabulous! You’ll see just how amazing she is through this interview. And although social media can be deceiving at times, I am still able to see someone’s persona, authenticity, vulnerability and all around love when presenting their message to the world… and that is what attracted me to this babe of a mommy!ĭon’t let me spoil it for you. I am so excited to share with you an absolute gem of an interview today! One day I was stalking the inter-webs (as I do) for badass women out there doing their thing while inspiring people around them with their passion.
